Topeak QuickTrack Adapter Fix For Aventon Rear Rack
If you have the latest rear rack from Aventon and you are having issues attaching your Topeak Omni QuickTrack Adapter, this will show you how.
Video Summary
- This video is about successfully using the Topeak Omni QuickTrack Adapter on an Aventon rear rack.
“Do you have an Aventon bike with this kind of rack on the back, but you want to add a Topeak quick release style rack on top of it? I’m going to show you how to make it work.”
Removing Screws and Loosening Locks
- Use a 3mm Allen wrench to remove the two bolts on the back of the Aventon rack.
- Adjust the little lips that normally lock into the rack by loosening them all up, pulling them out as far as they can go, and then tightening them back down.
“The Aventon rack can be modified to fit the Topeak rack by removing the bolts and adjusting the lips that normally lock into the rack.”
Positioning the Rack
- Decide where you want to position the rack based on your preferences.
- Consider factors like suspension seat posts and the need to avoid bag-seat contact during suspension movement.
- Slide one of the brackets in between the Aventon rack and position it securely.
- Slide the other bracket underneath, ensuring that the screw hole goes between the appropriate areas.
“Position the rack where you prefer it, taking into account factors like suspension seat posts. Then, slide the brackets in place, ensuring the screw hole lines up properly.”
Attaching the Rack
- Use a longer bolt to attach the bracket and rack securely.
- Line up the screw part with the hole and tighten it as best as possible.
- Ensure that the upward clamp faces away to allow easy sliding of the bag.
“Attach the bracket and rack securely using a longer bolt. Ensure that the upward clamp faces away for easy bag sliding.”
Stabilizing the Rack
- Use an Allen wrench to tighten the connection between the bracket and the rack.
- Tighten the screw between the bracket and the rack to prevent any movement.
- Use zip ties through the holes in the bottom of the clamp and the side bracket to further secure the rack.
“Stabilize the rack by tightening the connection between the bracket and the rack with an Allen wrench. Use zip ties to further secure the rack.”
Adding Locktite
- If desired, add blue locktite to the screws before tightening them down to prevent them from coming undone.
“To ensure the rack stays secure, you can add blue locktite to the screws.”
