How to unlock the Aventon Adventure Speed Control

The Aventon Adventure bike is initially locked as a Class 2 bike, limiting its speed to 20 miles per hour.
In this video, the process of unlocking the bike to a Class 3 bike and increasing the speed to 28-31 miles per hour will be demonstrated.

“When I got my Aventon Adventure, it was actually locked in as a Class 2 bike. That’s how they ship it, and it was limited to 20 miles an hour.”

Downloading the Aventon app

To unlock and customize the bike’s settings, the Aventon app needs to be downloaded from either the Apple Store or Google Play.

Connecting the app to the bike

Power on the bike by holding the ‘i’ button.
In the app, click on the ‘+’ button and scan the QR code displayed on the bike.
Enter a nickname for the bike, such as “main2”, and confirm it.

“Hold the ‘i’ button down to power the bike on, then hit the ‘i’ button again. It will give you a QR code. Hit the plus button in the app, hold the QR code in front of the camera, and enter a nickname for the bike.”

Adjusting settings in the app

In the app, navigate to the settings section.
Various settings can be adjusted, including screen brightness, display duration when turned off, and speed limit adjustments.
To increase the speed limit, tap the plus button and move the slider to the top. Choose between miles per hour or kilometers.

“From there, you can hit the settings button and look at all these settings. You can adjust the screen brightness, how long you want the bike to stay on when you turn it off, and up here is where you’re going to upload the speed limit.”
