Video Summary
Introduction
- Long distance test on Aventon’s newest version of the Pace 500.3
- Testing how far the bike can go without an extra battery
- Bike is comfortable to ride even without battery power
“We’re going to see how far it can go…this bike does ride pretty easy enough without battery power”
Comfort of the bike
- Seat has shock absorbers for added comfort
- Seat absorbs hits and bumps
- Despite lacking front suspension, bike remains comfortable
“I think this bike is one of the most comfortable bikes I’ve ever ridden…the seat is awesome…[and] the fact that it doesn’t have a front suspension fork didn’t seem to matter with this bike”
Battery power and distance traveled
- Battery power left at 75% after 12 miles
- Bike capable of going approximately 30 miles
- Throttle and motor performance decreases as battery drains
“We have gone 51% of battery…I know that we can get 30 miles out of this bike before it runs out…the lower your battery once you get under 10, you’re really going to have to set everything up and you’ll just be moving a little bit more…you’re going to have to put more pressure and do more body power to keep this bike moving”
Brake issues
- Brake squeaking and grinding issues similar to previous Aventon bike
- Contacting support for new rotors and brake pads may resolve the issue
“[I had] this issue with my Aventon too…the brakes on this bike…are squeaking…I’m pretty sure…that’s what’s going to happen with this one…it’s two for two when it comes to me and brakes”
Summary of the bike
- Bike rated as solid and excellent
- Comfortable positioning, seat, and grips
- Throttle and motor performance affected by battery level
“I think I could have rode this bike all day…it was just a solid excellent bike…the seat is awesome, the grips are super comfy…the fact that it doesn’t have a front suspension fork didn’t seem to matter…the lower your battery…the throttle gave you less and less support as the same with the motor”
